On most days I go out for a mid-morning walk, which very often takes me through the 'centro storico' of Nuoro and then 'Piazza Satta' (named after the well-known Nuorese poet Sebastiano Satta), and I am often on the look-out for interesting or unusual buildings which would prove good subjects for drawing, before making my way home. To the right is a rather curious building just off Via Chironi and very close to the newsagents there.
The drawing below is of the 'Ristorante Monti Blu' in Piazza Satta. We've never actually been to the restaurant there but downstairs is a tea house which serves practically any kind of beverage you could wish to drink, and all around are all sorts of fabulous hand-made clothes, amongst other things, for sale. If ever you're in Nuoro it really is a place you should visit.
I've now completed six drawings and I'm halfway through the seventh.
My aim was to complete ten drawings by the end of the year so I'm just
about on schedule, but I do work rather slowly. It can take me a few
weeks sometimes to complete a drawing!
Un progietto in corso - i disegni degli edifici di Nuoro
Quasi ogni mattina faccio una passegiata attraverso il centro storico di Nuoro e poi attraverso piazza Satta. Spesso cerco gli edifici interessanti ed insoliti che sarebbero i soggetti miglioro per disegnare. A destra, un edificio piuttosto curioso molto vicino al giornalaio di Via Chironi.
Sotto, il mio disegno del ristorante Monti Blu in piazza Satta. Non siamo stati mai al ristorante insieme ma giù c'è una sala da tè che serve ogni tipo di bibita che vogliamo bere. Ci sono anche molti bei vestiti, fatti a mani, e altre cose in vendita. E' un posto se dovreste visitare se venite a Nuoro.
Ho fatto sei disegni adesso e sto lavorando sul mio settimo. Il mio scopo è finire dieci disegni entro la fine di quest'anno e quindi procedo come previsto. Però, lavoro molto lentamente. Ogni tanto ci vogliono alcune settimane per finire un disegno!
